Private CLASSES
Private classes offer a quiet, personalised space to explore movement, breath and wellbeing at your own pace.
Each session is tailored to your body, your needs and your goals — whether you are new to yoga, recovering from injury, managing stress, or simply looking for a more individual approach to practice.
Working one-to-one allows us to move with greater attention and detail. Sessions may include somatic movement, gentle strengthening, mobility work and guided relaxation, all woven together through the principles of the Alaya Method.
Private sessions can also form part of a longer-term wellness plan, supporting you in building a sustainable practice that fits your life.

“I had dipped in and out of yoga over the years, attending the occasional beginners’ class but never quite understanding the poses or feeling confident in my practice.
Everything changed when I started one-to-one sessions with Sharon at Alaya. From the very beginning, her calm, patient approach made me feel completely at ease. She has a wonderful way of guiding you into each posture with clarity and care, ensuring you truly understand and feel the benefits.
Sharon’s knowledge is exceptional, and every session feels thoughtfully tailored. She often weaves in elements such as sound baths and other holistic touches, which bring a deeper sense of relaxation and connection to the experience.
What stands out most is her calming presence, combined with a genuine warmth and sense of humour. The level of detail and attention she brings is unlike anything I’ve experienced before, it’s a world away from the typical gym class.
I can honestly say I am now completely sold on yoga, and that is entirely thanks to Sharon and the beautiful experience she creates at Alaya.”

Classes at Alaya Wellness are intentionally small, allowing space for careful guidance and a calm, supportive atmosphere.
We begin slowly, often lying or seated, with breath awareness and gentle somatic movements to help the body arrive and release tension from the day. From there, movement gradually builds through simple sequences that develop strength, mobility and balance, always guided by the rhythm of the breath.
The pace of practice is unhurried, allowing time to feel how the body moves and organise each posture with stability and ease.
Each class concludes with an extended savasana — a quiet ritual of rest supported by gentle hands-on adjustments, calming oils and sound. This final part of the practice allows the nervous system to settle deeply and the body to fully integrate the work.
Classes are suitable for a wide range of bodies and experience levels. Options and adaptations are always offered so that you can move in a way that feels supportive and sustainable for you.

The Alaya Method welcomes a wide range of bodies and experience levels.
It may feel particularly supportive if you are:
New to yoga and looking for a gentle, thoughtful place to begin.
Returning to movement after a break or period of stress.
Seeking a slower, more intentional style of practice.
Interested in developing strength and stability without rushing or strain.
Looking for a space where rest and nervous system care are valued as much as movement.
Many students come to Alaya simply wanting a moment in the week to slow down, reconnect with their bodies and move with greater awareness.
-
Classes welcome beginners as well as those with more experience. Movements are taught slowly with clear guidance and options, allowing you to move at a pace that feels supportive for your body.
-
Yoga mats and props are available in the studio, so there is no need to bring anything unless you prefer to use your own mat.
Wear clothing that feels comfortable and allows you to move freely without restriction.
-
The practice builds strength gradually but avoids rushing or forcing the body. Movements are slow and deliberate, allowing the body to develop stability and resilience over time.
As with any movement practice, it is important to listen to your body and recognise when to ease off or when you feel ready to build strength.
-
Options and modifications are often offered during class so that you can move in a way that feels supportive for your body.
However, you know your body best. If you have an injury or health concern, it is important to move within your own limits, and if you are unsure it is always advisable to consult your doctor or health professional before attending.
