The Afterglow

An immersive midsummer evening retreat hosted by Alaya Wellness and Alex Maw Auricular Acupuncture at Reset Wild Spa.

Held in the lingering light of midsummer, The Afterglow is an immersive three-hour retreat designed to calm the nervous system, soften the body and create space for deep rest.

Set within the peaceful natural surroundings of Reset Wild Spa, this intimate evening experience weaves together somatic movement, auricular acupuncture, immersive sound therapy, ceremonial cacao and restorative spa rituals - guiding guests through a carefully curated journey of release, reconnection and renewal.

Whether you come alone, with a friend, or gather a small group together, The Afterglow offers a shared yet personal space to pause, exhale and reconnect.

As day softens into evening, guests are invited to step away from the pace of everyday life and into a calm, considered space where they can slow down, breathe deeply and simply be.


What to Expect

Guests will be guided through a sensory-led evening including:

  • Somatic movement

  • Auricular acupuncture

  • Immersive sound and vibrational therapy

  • Ceremonial cacao

  • Sauna and cold-water contrast rituals

  • Herbal tea and closing circle

The experience is designed to support nervous-system regulation, deep relaxation and embodied restoration within a safe and nurturing environment.

Each guest will also receive a thoughtfully curated wellness kit to take home.

Retreat Flow

4:00pm – Arrival, grounding shot & welcome

4:15pm – Somatic movement

4:45pm – Auricular acupuncture & immersive sound journey

5:30pm – Ceremonial cacao & relaxation

5:50pm – Spa ritual & contrast therapy

6:35pm – Closing circle & herbal tea

6:50pm – Gentle departure

Please arrive 10–15 minutes before the event begins to allow time for check-in, settling into the space and getting comfortably prepared for the evening ahead.

Arrive hydrated and having eaten lightly beforehand.

What to Bring

For the Somatic movement yoga we recommend to wear comfortable, breathable, and stretchy clothing that allows you to move freely and with ease.

Please bring your own yoga mat and any props you like to use. A limited number of mats and props will be available upon request, on a first-come, first-served basis.

For the auricular acupuncture and immersive sound journey, you are invited to bring anything that will help you feel more comfortable and supported during this restorative part of the retreat, such as a thicker mat, cushions, blankets or pillows. We also recommend you bring warm socks and a sweatshirt in case you feel cold.

For the contrast therapy please bring swimwear, flip flops to walk between the areas, TWO towels (one to sit on in the sauna, one to dry yourself with).

Although some refreshments will be provided, we recommend you bring your own water bottle too to stay hydrated throughout the session.

Important Information

All experiences are optional, including sauna and cold-water immersion.

A health questionnaire and contraindications form will be completed prior to attendance to ensure the experience is suitable and safe for all guests.

Booking & Cancellation Policy

Due to the intimate nature of this event and the limited number of spaces available, all bookings are non-refundable.

If you are no longer able to attend, you are welcome to transfer your place to another guest. Please email us in advance with the new participant’s full name and contact details so that they can complete the required health questionnaire and waiver form prior to the event.

Movement & Sacred Sound is a guided workshop designed to support deep rest, release and reconnection.

Movement & Sacred Sound


Prepare

We begin with gentle, embodied movement and breath-led practice to prepare the body, softening physical tension, settling the nervous system and creating space to receive.

Receive

From here, you are guided into stillness, where sound becomes the primary experience.

A layered sound journey unfolds using instruments such as singing bowls, gong, drum, chimes and subtle tonal elements, alongside moments of voice and silence. The sound is introduced gradually and woven throughout the space, allowing the body and mind to soften into a deeper state of rest.

Return

As the session draws to a close, you are gently guided back into awareness through quiet movement and breath, allowing the body to reawaken gradually. We finish with a simple closing mantra, followed by a small grounding offering to help you return gently to the room.

These workshops are designed as a complete experience, preparing the body, guiding you into stillness, and supporting a calm and considered return.

This workshop is informed by training in sacred sound with Anne Malone of Oasis of Sound, and continues to evolve through the principles of the Alaya Method.
