The wintering
a time to hibernate, not disappear, allowing retoration to happen
Winter invites us to move at a different pace: to conserve our energy, to turn inward without disconnecting and to nourish ourselves before our energy begins to return. Do you find this easy or challenging?
At the heart of The Wintering is the understanding that slowing down is not standing still. Not feeling guilt. Not feeling ‘less’ of yourself. Within the warmth of the yurt, we’ll create a quiet and intimate space to reflect, reconnect and enjoy the simple rituals of turning inward.
An invitation to settle, and create the conditions for renewal, leaving you feeling calm, restored and ready for the winter weeks ahead.

The Experience
Held as autumn gives way to winter, The Wintering is an intimate three-hour experience inspired by the quieter rhythms of the season and the simple pleasure of slowing down.
Nestled in the countryside at Oxmoor Farm, we'll gather within the warmth of Whiteleaf Yurt, enveloped by the gentle heat of the wood-burning stove and the comforting atmosphere of a winter gathering.
Throughout our time together, we'll weave gentle somatic movement, auricular acupuncture, immersive sound and the contrasting sensations of sauna and cold water with moments of stillness, conversation and nourishing food.
But beyond the individual experiences, what matters most to us is the space we create together.
A warm, relaxed and welcoming environment where you can arrive exactly as you are. Where conversation can flow naturally, thoughts and feelings have room to surface, and silence is just as welcome.
There is no expectation to share, no particular way to feel and certainly nothing to achieve. Just time to enjoy the company of others, retreat into your own thoughts, warm yourself by the fire and share a bowl of homemade soup.
Because rest is not something we need to earn. Sometimes we just need the time, space and warmth to remember how good it feels to slow down.

Workshops
Movement & Sacred Sound is a guided workshop designed to support deep rest, release and reconnection.
Movement & Sacred Sound
Prepare
We begin with gentle, embodied movement and breath-led practice to prepare the body, softening physical tension, settling the nervous system and creating space to receive.
Receive
From here, you are guided into stillness, where sound becomes the primary experience.
A layered sound journey unfolds using instruments such as singing bowls, gong, drum, chimes and subtle tonal elements, alongside moments of voice and silence. The sound is introduced gradually and woven throughout the space, allowing the body and mind to soften into a deeper state of rest.
Return
As the session draws to a close, you are gently guided back into awareness through quiet movement and breath, allowing the body to reawaken gradually. We finish with a simple closing mantra, followed by a small grounding offering to help you return gently to the room.
These workshops are designed as a complete experience, preparing the body, guiding you into stillness, and supporting a calm and considered return.
This workshop is informed by training in sacred sound with Anne Malone of Oasis of Sound, and continues to evolve through the principles of the Alaya Method.
Workshops are held periodically throughout the year.
